Whether you come to Northumberland to visit the many historic castles, houses and gardens for which the county is famous, to walk the hills and valleys in the National Park or to enjoy some of Britain’s finest beaches, unspoilt countryside and the quietest roads anywhere, you’re sure of a warm welcome and a friendly stay here at the Demesne.
You’ll find its quiet location and homely atmosphere a real treat after a busy day. Here, in your own lounge, with its deep-cushioned sofas and mellow lighting, it’s the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and a good book.
On long summer evenings our guests can also enjoy sitting in the garden watching the ever-changing colours as the sun sets on the hillside, whilst buzzards soar overhead, the heron heads for the river and the numerous garden birds, whose chatter and ceaseless activity will suddenly stop as the Sparrowhawk flies by.
Evenings are also a special time when you could be lucky enough to spot deer in the field, our resident barn owl as she skims along just above the stone walls and the bats which silently swoop overhead.
After a good night’s sleep and you’ve made your way to the Conservatory for a real farmhouse breakfast, the view will have changed again as the morning sun warms the air and slowly clears the mist from the Coquet Valley.
